The complexity of this mixed-use community building originated from its many functions as well as its integration into a high rise building complex via an underground system of passageways and parking. High-building requirements became an issue in terms of joint egressing and alarm-systems.The building consists of a sporting club, public pool and aleasing center.
Erik Rossmann, principal of RAAI, was the architect in charge of the Ottawa office for the Montreal based firm DCYSA and was the architect in charge of Ontario operations. In this role, Mr. Rossmann was in charge of the project from beginning to end. Mr. Rossmannled the project from the presentations to the city and community, contract documents and through the entire construction.
